These terms and conditions set out the rules for using our website, located at roofingcentralscotland.co.uk, and the general terms for the roofing services we provide. Your quotation may include further terms specific to your work. Where your quotation differs from these terms, your quotation applies.

In these terms, "Client", "You" and "Your" refer to you, the user of this website or our customer. "The Company", "We", "Our" and "Us" refer to Solar Central Scotland Ltd trading as Roofing Central Scotland. These terms are governed by the law of Scotland.

Roof Surveys and Quotations

Before we quote for work, we carry out a roof survey. During the survey we inspect your roof and take photographs, which we share with you so you can see what we found.

• Surveys and quotations are free and without obligation
• Quotations are based on what can be seen and safely accessed during the survey
• Each quotation states the work included, the price and how long the quotation is valid for
• Work begins once you have accepted the quotation

Hidden Defects

Some defects cannot be seen until work has started, for example damaged sarking boards, rotten timbers or failed flashings found once a roof is stripped. If we find hidden defects, we will show you photographs, explain the options and agree any additional cost with you before carrying out the extra work.

Access and Scaffolding

You agree to give us safe and reasonable access to your property for the agreed work. Most roof replacements and many repairs need scaffolding or other access equipment for safety. Where scaffolding is needed, we arrange it and include it in your quotation. If access is needed over a neighbouring property, we will discuss this with you before work starts.

Weather and Scheduling

Roofing work depends on the weather. We may need to delay or pause work during heavy rain, high winds or other unsafe conditions. If this happens, we will keep your property protected and agree a new date with you. We are not liable for delays caused by weather or other events outside our reasonable control.

Waste and Site Tidiness

We keep the work area tidy and remove waste materials created by our work, unless your quotation states otherwise.

Emergency Repairs

Emergency repairs are carried out to make your roof safe and watertight as quickly as possible. An emergency repair may be temporary. Where a permanent repair is needed, we will quote for it separately.

Solar Panel Removal and Refit

Where your roof has solar panels, removal and refitting is carried out by our solar team at Solar Central Scotland. We will inspect the panels and system before removal. We are not responsible for existing faults or wear in panels, inverters or wiring that were present before our work. Any faults found will be reported to you before the panels are refitted.

Guarantees

Our roofing work is backed by guarantees. The guarantee that applies to your work is set out in writing with your quotation or invoice. Guarantees do not cover damage caused by severe weather beyond normal conditions, alterations or work carried out by others, accidental damage or lack of reasonable maintenance.

Payment

Payment terms, including any deposit, are set out in your quotation. Invoices are payable within the time stated on the invoice.

Cancellation

If you are a consumer and you agree a contract with us away from our business premises, for example at your home, you may have a legal right to cancel within 14 days. If you ask us to start work within this period, you may have to pay for work carried out before you cancel. Full details are provided with your quotation.
